Over the last couple of months I have learnt the art of promoting my blog, I am not saying I have perfected it or even know how to do it better I am saying for 'me' I have learnt what seems to be working for me. I do not have 2k or even 10k views a day I have 200 to 500 and for me this is HUGE to some this is peanuts which is fine by me 'each to their own'. I never thought my blog would be where it is now in a million years, I had hoped and dreamed of it reaching somewhere near to where it is at now but never knew how to get their. So now that we have settled that let me share a few ways I promote my blog;
#bloggers how do you promote your blog? What tools do you use? #blog #lbloggers @fashbeautylife @UKBlog_RT

Facebook - love it or hate it, it is one of the biggest ways to promote your blog. Some people get a lot of traffic from social networks like Pinterest but I am yet to get such traffic from it but then again I hardly pin things. I have joined a couple of facebook pages (I would like to mention but not sure if allowed so will skip this part) but these facebook pages have really helped drive traffic to my blog and helped me make friends who check out my blog not because I shared a link but because I have become a part of their morning routine (checking out other blogs) as they have mine. If you don't have a facebook page for your blog I suggest you get one but don't neglect your normal account because it usually starts with family and friends.Family & Friends - Almost all my close friends and friends of friends now read my blog via word of mouth. I had a friend of a friend the other day PM me to say 'thank you for being so inspirational continue blogging I love waking up to read your blog' I was taken aback because though I hope my blog touches or even helps someone's life I did not think or even imagine ever hearing such words it is truly amazing.
Advertising - most people use PassionFruit Ads (I did too until recently), check out bloggers in your niche first and see what those blogs offer and how much readership they have etc and then invest some money into appearing on their side bar. Don't only stick to small bloggers think big and go large but remember not all will accept so be ready to accept that.
Twitter/Instagram - for the last two months I have seen a great increase in traffic from twitter and even IG. I am so glad about this hence its included, I use Hootsuite to schedule my posts (I have hash tags all set up) and this has made all the difference.
Affiliate networks - I met one of my now best friend (yet to meet in person) on an affiliate network, we have been chatting for over a year now and I feel so close to her than I do with most people I have know for a long time.
There are so many ways to promote/drive traffic to your blog and the few mentioned above have worked for me quite well. What other ways do you promote/drive traffic to your blog? What has worked for you?

Thank you very much. Concise and insightful!
ReplyDeleteThank you appreciate that x
DeleteI don't think many of my family or friends read my blog. At least on a consistent basis.
ReplyDeleteI only found out recently that mine receive my updates in their inbox and they read them so if i share something they are not happy about they definitely let me know lol
DeleteI think it's super important to find your target audience. I have also found that over sharing on social media can hurt numbers instead of help.
ReplyDeleteIt's very important to learn and target your audience and oversharing could be detrimental but its learning the balance
DeleteOh I'm totally in love with Instagram at the moment. I think sharing on Instagram is a form of blogging really and sometimes I get more feedback on there then on my actual blog!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the growth of your blog. It's wonderful that you are sharing how you reached and exceeded your goals.
ReplyDeleteGreat growth i would like to have that on my blog! I agree though facebook i hate, but we need it to get things through and done.
ReplyDeleteFacebook is not as good as it used to be a few years ago. Now my readers rarely see when I post unless I want to pay for everything to be seen. I decided to start over with a new blog name and a new Facebook last March and it has been a struggle getting back to over 1500 likes, but I try to take it one day at a time. Keep up the awesome work!
ReplyDeleteFacebook and I have a love hate relationship.... My blog was doing fine without a page but to get the bigger companies giving you Sponsored post they almost make you have to have a fb page these days....now that I have a fb page I feel know one wants to subscribe to my actual blog anymore... They see my post on Fb... But at the same time I found a new audience....ughhh .... Lol #BloggerProbz
ReplyDeleteI have to say I mostly use Facebook to promote my blog, and it has generated a lot of traffic for me, but I am still looking for additional ways to increase my readership.
ReplyDeleteI promote my blog mainly using facebook and twitter!
ReplyDeleteI promote my blog through all my social networks at least three or four times a week and I join give-away linkies.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips for new bloggers. I promote my blog on all my social media networks.
ReplyDeleteI get a lot of my traffic from twitter and Facebook. I have been working to help promote my blog more through other social media as well, but it's always greatest when someone hears about it through word of mouth.
ReplyDeleteI love receiving comments from readers saying that they have been inspired because of my post. Yes, hearing those is truly amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool that you met your best friend through an affiliate network! I am so grateful for the friends I've made through blogging. Although I am still working on befriending other bloggers who's niche is similar to mine!
ReplyDeleteI am looking to expand my blog and take to next level so this was great to read. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteTwitter has always been a great source of traffic for me. I love Instagram too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips. FB & twitter is good bring traffic to my blogs too :D
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people enjoyed passionfruitads - but for some reason I never had luck with that :( Most of my traffic is more on FB and Twitter.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips, I'm always looking for ideas to expand my readership.
ReplyDeleteThese are great tips to promote your blog and this is a great giveaway too. I think it is great you are sharing what works for you. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThey all worked for me. Also, not to forget Pinterest. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are definitely great ways to promote your blog. I love to promote my blog posts through my social media channels.
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering about Passionfruit. I need to find a few great programs as opposed to a bucnh of them as they start to get confusing!
ReplyDeleteMy site is pretty old, so I still have a lot of older readers. I join some exchange communities, but those are mostly to meet more bloggers... yeah getting comments and such are fun, but the connection is a bonus.
ReplyDeleteI promote through social networks. These are all great ideas for marketing your posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these tips! I get about 70% of my traffic from Pinterest!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip about advertising on other blogs. I had forgotten about that important step in promoting a blog.
ReplyDeleteI use the groups on Facebook too. I would like to have some traffic that comes from more than just these groups though. I hope that those that read because they "have to" will start reading because they want to.
ReplyDeletePromoting is so important to get your blog seen so much.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this! I promote my blog on facebook, twitter, instagram.. almost everywhere I can! :D
ReplyDeleteI promote mine pretty much the same way and I've made great friends through the networking for my blog too :)
